Free H1N1 Flu Vaccines 

Cristo Rey Community Center in partnership with the Ingham County Health Department will offer free H1N1 Flu vaccines to the Lansing community.  Getting the H1N1 vaccine is the best protection you have against this type of Flu.

The vaccine will be provided at four locations during the months of March, April, and May of 2010 as follows:

Cristo Rey Catholic Church To Re-enact the Station of the Cross on Good Friday

Cristo Rey Catholic Church will re-enact the Stations of the Cross on Good Friday, April 2, 2010.  The procession will leave from the State Capitol steps to Cristo Rey Community Center.  The participants will walk and meditate at the Stations of the Cross as a way of entering more fully into the meaning of the sufferings of Jesus Christ on our lives.  In doing this we deepen our commitment to live according to our faith, both individually and as a community.
The re-enactment of the Cross begins at Noon on Good Friday, April 2, 2010 at the Capitol steps, and anyone who would like to join us for all or part of the procession is welcome.  For convenience, you may leave your vehicle at Cristo Rey Community Center, 1717 N. High Street, and bus transportation will be provided to the Capitol. The busses will leave the Center at 11:15am and 11:45am. After the Stations of the Cross, Fr. Fred Thelen will conduct the Adoration of the Cross at the Center.

The Mexican Consul will bring his Mobile Consulate Office to
Cristo Rey Community Center on April 10, 2010

The Mexican Consul, Vicente Sanchez-Ventura and staff, will bring the Mobile Consulate Office to Cristo Rey Community Center on, Saturday, April 10, 2010 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  Any Mexican citizen needing to renew his or her passport or an ID card (Matriculas Consulares) may apply for one at Cristo Rey Community Center.  The Mexican Consul Sanchez stated, “This is a joint project between my office and Cristo Rey. Any individual needing the service of the Mexican Consul need not drive all the way to Detroit for this service; they just need to come to Cristo Rey Community Center.”

Only 195 appointments will be available according to the Mexican Consul’s Office.  Cristo Rey will make appointments until the 195 appoints are confirmed. Individuals are also asked to arrive 15 – 30 minutes before their appointments. 
Individuals should bring original birth certificate, voter registration card, marriage certificate and official ID’s with a photo, or School ID if it has a photo.
