Cristo Rey Health Clinic

Accepting New Patients! Just Call 371-1700

Dr. CookeCristo Rey Family Health Clinic has provided medical service to the Lansing community for over 30 years. Among the medical services offered by the Health Clinic are adult health, internal medicine with Peter Cooke, M.D., ob/gyn with Sung Lee, M.D., chiropractic health care with Kristin Batdorf, D.C. and pediatrics. Within each of these areas, the Clinic provides treatment and intervention service, diagnostic service, education, information and referral service. In addition, Cristo Rey Family Health Clinic was certified in December 2006 by Homeland Security as a Civil Surgeon to perform immigration and change of visa physicals.

The Clinic is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with appointments being scheduled about every 20 minutes per provider. Although the Clinic works on an appointment basis, walk-ins are seen when they can be worked into the schedule. There is also a provider on-call after hours to triage and direct patients to the correct facility after hours. However, Cristo Rey Family Health Clinic does not refill medications after Clinic hours.

In addition to meeting the needs of the overall population, the special language and cultural needs of the Hispanic community are met through bilingual physicians, nurses, clerical staff and volunteers at the Clinic.

Cristo Rey Family Health Clinic participates with most pennycommercial insurance plans as well as the Ingham County Health Plan, Medicaid and Medicare.

Cristo Rey Family Health Clinic has established relationships with all area hospitals as well as with the Ingham County Health Department, who provides a bilingual outreach worker, Margarita Gonzalez, once a week to help people sign up for various programs offered through the state or county for health care coverage.

If you have questions about becoming a patient at Cristo Rey Family Health Clinic, you may call (517) 371-1700 to schedule an appointment. If you are interested in volunteering at the Clinic, please contact the Clinic Program Coordinator, Rhonda Dyer, at (517) 371-5690.

CRISTO REY MIGRANT CLINIC

Cristo Rey Migrant Health Program consists of the mobile health clinic providing services for migrant farm workers who might otherwise receive no other health care. The Mobile Health Clinic is staffed by volunteer physicians, nurses and interns, most of whom are bilingual with services that other healthcare providers might not understand.

The Mobile Health Clinic visits the camps June through August providing routine medical care and referral services to human service agencies that help the migrant population in the Lansing, Jackson, Clinton and Stockbridge areas.

Migrant workers are also seen at the Cristo Rey Family Health Clinic. This service is supported by the Ingham County Health Department.
